I read the article "Purge myself from prejudice"(original: 放空自己) from Ben's blog. It really made sense to me. He is one of my friends and he is outstanding. After graduating from Oxford in British, he is now an enterpriser in China. In his article, he described that he is just like a blank paper in the whole new surroundings; he is unfamiliar with everything there and nearly don't know anyone. He wishes that he won't be shackled by his past, no matter successes or failures. Forget everything and face new challenges.
Turning my eye to look over myself, I think it is now a critical moment for my life. Many people who knew me can not connect past Woody with present Woody easily. They always think that I should have achieved something with music. Indeed, now I am up a gum tree because of my immature mind and some of my incorrect decisions. Further, also unluckily, the accident happened in Sydney last year nearly declared the end of my music performance life. In the past, I had some proud honors and was good at playing French horn. However, it is no use saying about my past or being regretful for it. I have to accept the fact. I feel some happenings which we think they were bad are not always certainly that bad to us. Sometimes, these "accidents" destroy our original plans, but give us another different kind of compensation in the future.
Recently, it is not smooth in Taiwan political situation. The Vice-President Lu, in an interview for the topic of Mei LI Tao political event in ETTV, talked about the reality in Politics. “The glory you got in the past Mei LI Tao event could not ensure you can get political power in the future”, she said. For example, Mr. Shih Ming-Te, being as a forerunner of Taiwan democracy movement, however, did not enjoy the gains in politics. “If you want to gain new political power, you have to do something new everyday, and discard the past." This is her comment about it.
Even excellent movie stars or super athletes also have a day they must say goodbye to their splendid past. Some people choose to go down the stage gracefully and composedly, like Andre, Agassi. On the other hand, there were some movie stars who were depressed because they could not accept the truth that they were not a famous person on the screen anymore. It depends on how you think about it.
No matter what I have done perfectly or what mistakes I have made in the past, I hope I can go ahead with full energy. Don't think about the past.
The Ex- British Premier David Lloyd George closed every door he walked passed. His friends were confused about George's actions. George said: I close all the doors behind me all my life. When you close the doors, you leave all the past good or bad behind you, and then you can make a fresh start.
I hope I can…
Remember to close doors anytime.
Be honest to face the history. Devote myself to creating a new positive situation.
